• Better Than Logs Adhesive Sealants
BETTER THAN LOGS Adhesive Sealant is one part moisture curing adhesive sealant specifically formulated for BETTER THAN LOGS to offer outstanding adhesion to most building materials. It adheres to concrete and masonry surfaces, stone, glass, metal, painted surfaces, aluminum and galvanized steel.

Better Than Logs™ Adhesive Sealants

BETTER THAN LOGS™ Adhesive Sealant provides excellent resistance to cold, rain, ozone, heat and sunlight, contributing to the extended life of the adhesive sealant. It may be applied in sub-zero weather (-35 F) on frostless surfaces without loss of physical property characteristics. When properly applied, these adhesive sealants can be expected to extend and compress 50% of the installation width, with no more than 25% movement in a single direction without affecting the seal or adhesion bond. BETTER THAN LOGS™ adhesive sealants extreme flexibility will insure long service life in adverse weather conditions.

  • Sealing around vinyl and metal window and door frames
  • Sealing assemblies of metal, masonry, concrete, coated surfaces, plastics and other common materials
  • Expansion and construction joints in precast concrete or other masonry walls
  • Many other non-structural applications

Better Than Logs™ Adhesive Sealant is supplied ready to use. Under pressure it flows readily from its container. The paste-like consistency makes it easy to work. A spatula or wooden paddle can be used for tooling the surface.
The cure progresses inward from the surface. At conditions of at least 75°F (24°C) and 50% relative humidity, the adhesive sealant forms a tack-free skin within 15-25 minutes. Tooling is not practical after this skin begins forming and should be completed within three to six minutes of application, even though this may require alternate periods of applying and tooling. Likewise, if masking tape has been used to mark off an area, it should be removed before the tack-free skin forms.

Adhesive Sealant should not be applied:

• To building materials which might bleed oils or solvents. These include foams, tapes, impregnated wood, failed sealants, and caulking compounds. When sealant is used in remedial work, all old sealant should be removed.
• To unpredictably absorptive surfaces such as limestone, granite, and marble unless a standard of appearance has been agreed upon by the seller and the purchaser as a result of testing for stain or discoloration.
• In confined spaces where adhesive sealant requires atmospheric moisture for completion of cure.
• To surfaces which will be painted. As most paints do not adhere well to sealant, complete painting before applying.
• In depths that exceed 3/8”. If the depth exceeds 3/8” then use a backer rod as the fill material so that the adhesive sealant will adhere to the adjacent sides of the surface to be sealed.
• With wet tooling techniques such as water or soap, solvent, and water solutions.
• To unprepared or wet surfaces.
• In aquariums or structural glazing applications or to substrates not tested for adhesion or compatibility.
• As the “primary” seal in insulated glass units.
